Office Dress Codes

One in five managers say employees dress less formally than they did five years ago:

19% Somewhat less formally
2% Much less formally
16% Somewhat more formally
1% Much more formally
62% No more or less formally

Employees weigh in on the type of dress code they prefer:

5% I would prefer to work at a company that has a formal dress code
19% I would prefer to work at a company that has a business casual dress code
32% I would prefer to work at a company that has a casual dress code or no dress code
45% A company’s dress code doesn’t impact my decision to work there

The most common dress code violations managers see at work:

35% Dressing too casually
20% Showing too much skin
15% Having visible tattoos or piercings
13% Having extreme hair colors or styles
8% Having ungroomed facial hair
7% Wearing excessive accessories
2% Don’t know/no answer
