36% of workers negotiated for higher pay with their last job offer.

Reasons why employees didn’t negotiate:

59% were happy with the salary offered
19% wanted more money but were uncomfortable negotiating
12% wanted more money but felt they might lose the offer if they asked
10% wanted more money but didn’t know the going rate for their position

Respondents who didn’t try to negotiate higher pay with the last job offer.

When managers discuss pay with job candidates:

Phone or video interview: 10%
1st in-person interview: 39%
2nd interview: 25%
3rd interview or after: 7%
Once job offer is made: 13%
Salaries are listed in job description: 7%
