Research from Robert Half shows many companies are taking measures to increase salary equity among their staff. And that’s a good thing, as pay compression can lead to employee disengagement, recruiting challenges and potential turnover.

69% of companies have experienced pay compression in the last 12 months.

57% are increasing salaries for current staff to help close wage gaps.

Time to Talk Salary

50% of workers plan to ask for raise this year.

If they don’t get a raise:

36% will look for a new job with higher pay
25% will ask to revisit the conversation.
17% will ask for more perks.
